Classical Foundations

A thoroughly private and independent foundation for learning and studying.

Private: dependent on the voluntary exchange of client and tutor.

Independent: insofar as this is possible today, this means independent of government, its policies and tax-payer funded (i.e., non-voluntary) contributions, grants, or loans. Our earnings fund the business, expansion, and personal development.

Independence is a virtue which we uphold both in our Foundation and in our teaching ethos.

Why Classical?

We can so readily lose humanity's greatest achievements and thus become impoverished in spirit and mind. Yet that which stands the test of time knows no borders, transcends skin colour, politics, and religion - the classical heritage belongs as much to humanity as to any specific people.

Knowledge of the great compositions, books, art, and thoughts enables us to understand humanity in all of its ambitions, fears, and desires - it enables us to study closer our own culture as well as that of any other people; it teaches us what the human spirit is capable of; it helps us to mature and to respect, and in turn to be able to judge and discern good music from poor, books well crafted from books that fail, art well rendered from art poorly crafted, and thoughts well reasoned from thoughts motivated by ignorance or interest.

A Foundation in the Classics gives us the best start in life we can have.
